46: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

In this episode of Geek Cinema Society, Brett Stewart, Nicole Davis, and their guest, Jax, delve into 2012’s ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’

It was long and had a lot of singing and a lot of “dwarves” who did not have dwarfism. In this episode, David, Brett, Nicole, and guest Jax of Saturday Morning Pajamas mine the depths of LOTR prequel #1 of 3 and ask such questions as: Why is there so much singing in this nearly three-hour movie that is not a musical? How do you tell thirteen characters apart when they are all buried under beards and hair and they all have rhyming names? Is this film blatant anti-elf propaganda? Come tackle this epic with us!

For listeners who would like to follow along and treat Geek Cinema Society as a film club of sorts, we will be watching ‘Judge Dredd’ next! Following that, we’ll be watching ‘Masters of the Universe.’ David will return next episode as well!
